GEORGE Galloway came under fire from his own Respect party yesterday over his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.
In a leaked memo, activists admitted the move would cause "some damage" to the anti-war party.
The maverick MP has triggered a new row by insisting that Saddam was not hated by the Iraqi people when he was in power.
He said: "He was hated by political opponents because he opposed all political forces.
"But he was not hated by the ordinary Iraqis."
Jabbar Hasan, of the Iraqi Association, said 250,000 Iraqi refugees in Britain and four million worldwide had fled the oppression.
