George Galloway has nominated Interpal, a London-based charity that was classified by the US treasury in 2003 as Hamas-related, to receive his appearance fee for Big Brother.
Hamas raises funds through a network of charities under an umberella organisation known as the Union of Good and operated by the Middle East-based Muslim Brotherhood. The Union of Good uses Interpal as its principal clearing house for funds raised throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Hamas, whose constitution includes a call for the destruction of Israel, have claimed responsibility for numerous terrorist attrocities.
Wendy Hamilton, his media agent said: "This is nothing to do with me, I'm his media agent, I have no knowledge of the charity." A Channel 4 spokeman said: "It is George Galloway's personal choice and it's a registered UK charity."
The question, which unfortunately his constituents will be unable to ask Galloway for up to a month, is whether these funds will mysteriously make their way into his wifes bank account or if he actually intends the money to be used to blow up school children in Haifa.
