Following yesterdays leaked memo Respect Party memo, expressing disquiet with Galloways TV antics, the Socialist Worker Party (SWP) has also condemned Galloways appearance on the Channel Four reality show Big Brother as a "mistake" (no shit! ed.). The SWP issued the following statement on their website:
"...lots of people feel that it's not an appropriate way for an MP to spend their time. People in their workplaces and communities say that many Respect supporters don't think that this was a good idea.
We didn't know that George Galloway was going to go on the programme until 24 hours before it happened. We didn't agree with the idea, but by that stage the die was cast and the contract signed."
Can you say damage limitation? It looks like even Galloways closest supporters are trying to distance themselves from what is increasingly being seen as a irresponsible ego trip for Mr Galloway. The full article is here.
