One would have hoped, in the opening chapter of the 21st century, that stealing from humanitarian funds would be unthinkable for politicians whose careers supposedly depend upon their perceived credibility and integrity.
The Oil-For-Food scandal has however revealed how politicians from around the world, from those in the rarefied air of power to those that can see it from the backbenches, have been corrupted by the enormous amounts of cash involved in Iraq's Oil-For-Food programme.
Galloway, though really a minor player, has - through his own loud arrogance and posturing - become a lightening rod for the scandal. But those amongst the anti-war camp that view him as a fellow traveller should first be warned of his history of defrauding charities. Read more about the War-On-Want Scandal here.
